Bear Valley Springs is an equine enthusiast’s dream boasting an equestrian center and trail system.  The Equestrian Center offers full service boarding for its members, a Mare Motel for temporary boarding for members and their guests and a campground with restroom / shower facilities and corrals.  There are six arenas available covering many riding disciplines such as dressage, driving, cattle events and jumping.  There is one covered arena and a large multi-purpose ring that can facilitate disciplines such as gymkhanas’ and reining.  The jewel of Bear Valley Springs is the 50 mile trail system which has trails varying in difficulty from flat meadows to high mountain terrain.  Many events are held at the Equestrian Center from May 1 through October 31.  Check with the local equestrian clubs for their schedules.  Also, at the bottom of this page you will find  addtional downloadable, printable documents and information.

Hours:

Office hours are from 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM.  Use of facilities is from dawn to dusk.

PLEASE NOTE:  If you encounter any hazards on our trails, please report it to Butch Bolterman, Equestrian Center Manager, by email, butchb@bvsa.org or call the Equestrian Center at 821-3960.  Please do not contact the trail crew members directly. Butch will see that the proper action is taken as well as update this site with the pertinent information regarding the current condition of the trail.

Clubs:

Greenhorns:  Provides an environment for horse and rider to learn cattle handling skills that are used in working cattle operations throughout the west. The club is not designed to hold timed events or function as a practice for single events.  It is an opportunity for horse and rider to learn, work on and improve individual fundamental skills on scheduled training days. The club is open to any BVSA member in good standing and BVS renters with amenity privileges.  Contact Don McLaughlin @ 909-801-9631

Buckaroos:  Promotes safe, fun, western cowboy activities for kids and adults alike.   All levels of riders welcome.  Contact George McMackin @ 8211-1116, Cathy or Pat Bradshaw @ 821-6615 or Matt Bryant @ 821-1665

Horseman’s Association:  We promote equestrian related activities and facilities and support the acquisition and preservation of riding and hiking trails in Bear Valley Springs. We have weekly and monthly organized rides, and annually have horse shows, a Play Day Challenge and a Horseman’s Extreme Challenge. Membership is $25.00 annually. Horse ownership is not required; come and meet some friendly horse people. For more information contact Joan Howard @  bvshoward@hotmail.com.

Pony Club:  Bear Valley Springs Pony Club (BVSPC) is part of The United States Pony Club, an international organization, which promotes the development of the young English rider (to age 25) in team work, horse care, show jumping, cross country, and riding on the flat/dressage while teaching responsibility, leadership, and self confidence.  Contact Debbie Swarens @ 821-0968
